Need a little film history and culture in your life? Of course you do. We all do. And who doesn’t love the opportunity to watch classic films non-stop for an entire month. Enter Turner Classic Movies’ (TCM) “31 Days of Oscar,” a month-long marathont that celebrates some of the greatest films of all-time, uncut and commercial free.

The other day we brought you the 2D version of SoBe Lifewater’s Superbowl commercial, which features characters from the upcoming Dreamworks Animation feature Monsters vs. Aliens. And today they have released the 3D version of the trailer online for all to see — or at least those of us nerdy enough to have a pair of 3D glasses laying around the house.

Continuing on with the lukewarm Sundance buyers market, Samuel Goldwyn has picked up the U.S. rights to director Sophie Barthes’ sci-fi drama Cold Souls, which stars Paul Giamatti as himself.

Despite the popular notion that all things Pixar must win all awards animation, the 36th Annual Annie Awards were dominated this year by Dreamworks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda, leaving cute little robot Wall-E out in the cold.

When the SBPD finds a severed foot along a hiking trail, they call in Shawn and Gus to find the rest of the body. Through non-psychic shenanigans, they figure out the foot belonged to a field goal kicker for the local pro football team, the Thunderbirds.

Just days after we questioned whether or not Stephen Sommers had been replaced by a class of 3rd graders in the director’s chair for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and mere hours after we saw the first 10-second glimpse of the movie, our friends at Coming Soon come knocking with the full 30-second Superbowl teaser. And all signs are currently pointing toward: “Hey wait, this looks kinda fun.”

You’ll probably want to get used to posts like this from now until March 6th when Watchmen hits theaters. The Warner Bros. marketing machine is working overtime to ensure that Zack Snyder’s love letter to fanboys will also appeal to guys that have girlfriends.

Last night Entertainment Tonight aired a 10-second clip from the G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra commercial that will run this weekend during the Superbowl, and of course it has made its way online.

As expected, the folks at Warner Bros. Home Video have announced the details for the DVD and Blu-ray release of Tales of the Black Frieghter, the companion film to Zack Snyder’s Watchmen. This supplemental release, which follows the major substory within the book by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, will be released on March 24.

Just last month Scott Derrickson’s remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still actually made the box-office stand still and grossed a mere $80 million.
